ORE Terawhiti Ramble part2 27/05/2007

Post by Jerry »

Date and land access to be confirmed, Rated towhooks ARE required as we will be concentrating on new and interesting mud area's. Shiny vehicles and up, people without hooks can still come but will not be allowed to play. (get your hooks sorted now give Marty a call on 384 4141), new area's will be explored.

Is it stating the obvious if I say that I'll be there??

Yeah, 27th Mark is going tramping, so maybe another date other than that and we will come. Now that I am a pro I could come myself, but it is much nicer and fun when Mark comes......also if I break something then he knows straight away, I don't have to come home and break the news!

I had lots of fun today. Yes it was meeee getting pulled out of the same bog 5 times! First time had my window down so couldn't floor it, second time had it in drive not first gear so floored it and it went nowhere! Third forth and fifth times were just for fun and practice, and also to see if I could get that extra metre!

Looking forward to getting into that other stuff in the valley on the way out. Mark may have to be permanently relegated to Co-Driver!!

New suggested date is the 13th...other option is a couple of weeks after the Rallywoods trip.....

I didn't realise that Mark had a 4wd anymore......or have you secretly put his boat on TM to buy your own one

Just for that YOU are leading all of the trip HANDBRAKE...... PS bring your strop/gate b***h as well

Had more thoughts about the route......basically we head to the woolshed and head down a bit and then leave the road and see how far we get..., bring extra recovery gear, winch gloves, shovel etc.....mud is optional, F&R rated hook with a good mount is required, trucks without Rego/wof are welcome, if you have a winch even better  , don't forget a change of clothes and gumboots.

If you don't have these or have a shiny truck you can still come but won't be allowed into the bogs....

Hopefully Truckie is there this time, there should be some muddy bits as well as less muddy challenging bits....

Bring Tirfors if you have them as well as water to clean out radiators etc.

Yeah, you're right.
But I am getting old and I don't know if I can put up with the noise much longer. I am having trouble hearing my Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton CD's over all that racket.
