Hi Guys,
Just brought a CB Radio for the new truck, and am a little bit in the dark as to where i should mount the aerial?
I want it somewhere where its not gonna get wrecked and ripped off while out 4x4'n.
I was thinking on mabye the front bumper or along side the bonnet. Can they be mounted inside the vehicle?
Any thoughts would be great.
Cheers

If you have got the standard CB - rather than UHF/PRS - use the steel whip aerial, rather than a fibreglass one. I got mine from Christchurch. (http://www.tlparker.co.nz/)
Fibreglass don't like hitting things.
Ideally - the higher you can get it, and more central - the better.
Forgot to mention - I have mine mounted in the bonnet gutter about 1/2 way along on the drivers side.
Aerial also doubles as a height indicator for car-parks

A great location is on the rear door spare tyre carrier if you have one.
It is nicely tucked out of the way between the tyre & the rear door, & pretty well protected.
You can make a nice neat installation job of it if you plan it out before starting.
Centre of a steel roof is theoretically the best location for performance, but generally too vulnerable for 4WDing.
