hi
no Toyota runs like shit they just have good and bad days.Workshop manuals are hard to come by it sounds like you may have done something wrong on installation................soooooo tell the group your problems and im sure some one will get it right. Not much can go wrong unlike some other breeds

and this is a common swap

that would be good steve as the problem i am having is the engine is constantly running rich (and yes the cold start is off ) so a manual should get the problem sorted i hope this is very embarissing having to ask for help as i am a diesel machinc but have never worked on any petrol engines so dont quite understand air flow meters as i think this is where the problem may be so my address is 4 matai st pleasant point ( just 10 mins out of timaru ) ph 03-6148727 thanks . ps what do you drink !

You don't have a crook temp sensor (the little things with wires on em on the top front of the motor) do you? I seem to recall they could cause that or something similar - Mikes the man to ask about that.
The other thing I did

was put my airflow meter in back-to-front - that made it run like shit

Don't s'pose its something stupid like that?
Anyway I'll send it away in the next couple of days - Speights is my poison - next time you are in Chch buy us one each and we'll be square

hi
dont forget to check cold start injector. This is known to leak but unfortunately its under the inlet manifold and a shit to remove.
Just my 2 cents worth
cheers DJ
keep us posted as I for one would like to see who the lucky winner is

Whats the fuel pressure like Lloyd? What about the filter bolted to the side of the motor? I think yours has one, mine does

hi (and Tom)
unlikely to be fuel filter as its running rich (thats too much fuel) and when fuel filters crap out they reduce out put pressure not create it.
anothor 2 cents worth

Bugga!
If you want I can help you out with a block I've still got the spare one here... just got a small crack above the oil pump drive shaft, from when teh last owner dropped #1, easy fixed

as for the rest I just told teh engine recon shop to bin the spare crank pistons etc
don't buy another lotto ticket looks like you've used all your good luck up
If you'd like the block its yours just pay the frieght
