what are the bullshit laws about making steering parts,
im gona make my own hi-steer kit but was wondering if any of you know
what material will be certable ?
im guessing the arms wont be able to be welded, they will have to be billet and made from high carbon steel or similar

I think you will find that steering components need to be low/medium strength steels rather than High carbon/strength materials. I think the reason for this is that dimensionally larger components are better in terms of notch resistance or shock loading than more delicate high performance parts on a typical life basis.
A mate does a lot of rally car modification work and his comment a while back was that most automotive steering stuff is as above. He also said thet the certifyers will allow for acceptions depending on what you know and your work/modifications done before.

I am keen to hear back on the official word please.
cheers John
