Hi all,
How bad are the v6 3.0 litre surfs on gas? I realise they are a big petrol and will eat a bit of juice, but about how much? Are there any problems with the v6 surf?

in my manual surf i get 15L per 100k at best open road driving and can get in the 20's if thrashing it. I have 33inch tyres with 4.8ratio diffs. havnt noticed much difference from when i had the little wheels on with the 4.3s
I can just stretch 400ks out of a tank (65L).

G'day mate - I have a 1990 surf manual - I get about 380km around town and between 450 - 480km on the open road. Tank of gas is about $80 - 85

V6's respond really well to a set of headers (you'll need custom made). Gives about another 15hp (no shit!) abd dropped the fuel economy in mine to about 12l/100k average.
However, I wrote mine off 2 months after doing it!!!
They are prone to a head gasket leaking ever so slightly and eating away at the block/head and then letting go. (mine did this, so did 3 others I know of)
