Hey Guys,
looking for a starter motor for a rover v8 engine, must have the solenoid facing the ground not on side like many have.
Given up on my old 2M100 cos its worse than aids.
contatcors are burnt out, brushes stuffed and armature appears to have numerous cracks in it!
think the ones off those ugly rover cokroach cars are better.

theres a 'new' one on tm at mo, but looks like the same type as my stuffed one.
theyre impossible to waterproof cos mud gets into bellhousing and then pours straight into exposed solenoid mechanism and the contacts stop working. same with the alternator and dizzy and everything.
for some reason this doesnt happen to anything on landcruisers. maybe cos im using p6 parts not rangerover parts. Do Rangie's have waterproof starters with the solenoid hanging down? If so I need.
why the hell did i buy a poxy british motor!
Ohh yeah, cos everytime I start it and listen to that rumble it makes evrything unimportant!
My vote for best engine noise of all time.

Sucks I dont have a starter then......
