IFS spacers..

Hi still working on lifting my ln130 surf, i've only just found out that locally a guy makes up some sort of spacer or extended bracket to go between the top ball joint and the arm, this will lift the truck with out changing the stiff-ness of the torsion bars, or so i'm told. anyone no anything about this, is it better than just winding the torsion bars to lift the truck and can you do both to get a bigger lift?? any advice would be great thanks
