Is it possible to change from a 4.875 front diff (NH 3.0 v6 5 speed manual)
to a 5.285 front diff ( 2.5 Diesel )And the rear as well.
Wanting to change (lower) ratios for better gearing for larger tyres.
not very sure on the business of the splines etc.

nh? is that 2nd generation? if it is, then yes its posible. ive done it on mine. in the rear i just swaped the entire housing so didnt have to deal with the splines. the only problem i didnt encounter was the front prop/drive shaft (from transfur to diff). the diesel one is longer. not by much,maybe an inch or two but mine started to leak transfur oil. it could also be caused by the worn output seal but the leak slowed consideraly when i put the diesels shaft on. hope this helps.
