west coast tracks
Does anyone now of any tracks on the coast between Westport and Greymouth??
We are going down between xmas/new years, Planning to go through Stockton Plateau (tin town and Mt. Frederick) , Denniston etc, then heading down the coast to Liverpool Bills Creek just below Greymouth. then go through No Name road and Cock eye creek, before heading up towards Reefton, Napoleons Hill, Slab creek hut, Big river, Waitahu(Montgomeries hut). Larry's creek. Just looking for a few new tracks on the coast between Westport and Greymouth, only found Liverpool Bills Creek so far.
We head down every year and spend new years in the bush somewhere.
Didn't realise I wasn't logged on last time, But I am hoping to get away for the Trip mid Jan as well

There are a couple of tame ones that you may or may not know about.
Just out of Westport, as you cross the Totara river bridge, turn left imediatly at the end of the bridge, cross the river and you go up through the forestry for a way. At the top of the hill after the bridge, on your left is a new Doc sign saying recreation reserve, you can go explore all the loging roads and tracks in there. Further on your way to ward grey mouth, just after Charleston, you turn up a road called four mile RD, heaps to explore around in there, some cool camping spots at the very end of a couple of the tracks on what looks like old logging pads. Cool place in there, check out the lake on the way in if you go.

Liverpool bills you say. Hmm, that gives me an idea. Well i have been playing with it for a few days, but saturday on the westcoast trip i was hoping after doing the tunnels, to spend some time exploring in that area with cockeye creek, seeing if we could find liverpool bills etc. I,m sure every one would be up for some exploring and adventure as opposed to a perfectly organised follow the leader style trip which its looking like being.
( that depends on numbers of course, if we have heaps, the better it has to be organised
) I doplan to do a recky in there though, would be more fun not to, but possibly not the most sensible.
I thought on friday night over a couple of beers we could poor over the maps of that area and come up with a plan. That'l be pretty entertaining.
I'll ask around to see if any one knows of Shakespear creek. I haven't heard of it myself, so that could be a good one to find two. Could be in the same area as the others perhaps.
