fj40 is usually a bit earlier model than the bj42.. which means smaller spring and shackle bushes etc..

the fj refers to the engine being a petrol and the bj refers to the engine being a diesel.. nothing wrong with the bj42 fella...

i'd like to see some pics of the new purchase fella.. and what are your plans for it?

will take some pic in the morn. just the normal rust ridden beast.
looking for rear side both of, got roof but no sides. will look at fiberglass later on, but for now will put up with rusty steel ones.
got abit of work to do to get it up and running again. all rust work of course. hope to have it on the road in afew months.
has sweet running motor, drove it home from other side of town a few weeks ago (bad boy) no smoke did'nt miss a beat, steering got to go, strong arm no good.
a new set of glows and motor done.
what are LSD like to find for these? and what sort of price would I be looking at? so many questions
cheers

well chris... it so happens i have a spare lsd that'll fit your application... and as for price, it can vary a heap... check out a few places to get a reference price like, trade me, buy sell exchange, even advertise on here....? i might be able to help with the metal sides too...

so many questions huh?

fire away!
