Please pardon my ignorance, but what are "longfields"?

longfields cvs would be the best, if you can aford them. inducted S/B chevys running 42's plus in mud and rock terrain are getting a full season out of 1 set of cvs. that has to be good for all concerned

no one.. they are an import part from the states only, unless you own a lux that might fit the ones suzolla has.. :wink:

Hi, Thanx for the link to Longfields. That has completed my education on Longfield CVs and axles.

Well i blew another cv in my surf (kzn130)so i think its time i invest in some off these longfields. I what to make sure i order the right parts, what do i need? do i need the axles aswell or do they fit onto the standard ones? I have manual Asian hubs so i will need the inner bit for the 30 spline to fit?

Also i have never bought over the internet from another country, what can i expect with postage, exchange rate etc? Wanting to get this right as its new to me

They are for solid axles only...

hey mate, give SUZOLA a yell, he has some for sale. brand new and ready for someone to put into a vehicle,no hassles waiting for freight or worries about buying over the net :wink:

and about the same price as what you would pay to get them into the country yourself :shock:

Buy from somebody reputable for a start or there's very little protection from NZ law

Buying direct from longfield should be pretty safe

The NZD is as good as you'll probably ever get against the USD at the moment so don't miss the oppotunity and regret it

Customs as a rule of thumb will charge you GST and a small processing fee for anything over NZD $1k, amounts under this often aren't bothered with and the dont sting you the GST

What are you like with a welder?
Have seen 6mm rod welded around the outer ball race. They certainly seemed to hold very well, (Was on a solid axle though, not sure how much room you have on an IFS). For those that used to go out with Mike and I, they would know the "Mcgedyfields" woked pretty good.
