Cruiser HJ75 radiator mounts question

Post by Mattman »

I have an HJ75 radiator that I am fitting to my 1UZ powered Surf.

Does anyone have any pics of the mounts in an HJ75 or equivilant Cruiser?

These appear to use rubber bushed horizontal mounts on the side of the radiator and I want to replicate the mounting.

Cheers
Matt.

I think the top mounts are verticle through small brackets and the bottom ones are horizontal through the front bulkhead panel

Thanks for the pics.

How is the mount itself made up? Is it just a rubber bush through the hole in the radiator mount sitting on the bracket below held in with a bolt?

I wonder if the bushes are available - anyone know?

from memory the rubber bushes are 2 piece and I think a small crush tube through the centre? I think all 4 mounts use the same bushes.

I might pop down to toyota and see if the bushes and tubes are available.

Would it be worth contacting a dismantler to see if they would chop the mounts off?

Anyone know of a suitable truck being broken up?

Cheers

The rubber bushes were available brand new from mr Toyota for $25 for all four which isn't bad.

The upper mounts are also available but they are $130 each!!!!!

For a triangle with a stud it is pretty expensive, I was amazed they were available though but will make my own I think.

The lower mount appears to be just a bolt through the support panel which should be easy enough to replicate.
