what order would you recommend mods to be made

Post by mudhunt »

just bought a standard gq swb 4.2 diesel. I dont have the cash to do everything at once so would like some advice on a sensible order to make mods. I already have some 33" tyres and just got some body lift blocks. where to from here? susp lift? snorkel? ?????

What do you intend to do with it? If doing a body lift, remember to add $400 odd for the low volume cert you will need.
Suspension lifts can be reasonably priced if you shop around, you can get a good setup for under $1000.
If intending to do any driving near water, I'd throw a snorkel on fairly quickly, its suprising how quicklyyou can drown a motor just going for a play.

My mods were (in order roughly):
32" tyres
Snorkel
2" lift
33" tyres
Custom rear bar
3" lift
PTO winch
Rear diff lock
4" lift

After all this, for the amount of time off road I have spent in the wagon, a snorkel, 2" lift and 33's would have been enough

You can easily get a kit sent from oz, $600aus for a 3" lift shocks/coils plus freight, which if you go through the right people wouldn't cost too much.
