Well I spent most of Saturday morning trying to get the front bumper off my truck so I could mount some tow hooks. After using every curse imaginable, breaking my rachet, ripping alot of skin off my finger and breaking my workshop light I still have a bumper attached to my truck :x

Reason being is I have one bolt to undo but the F**ker at Toyota who welded the nut onto the chassis did a shit job and the weld broke, after trying a few different things I bolted it all back up and decided to watch TV instead.

Hoping Sunday goes better

Thats a nice line you've chosen. Kept the corner section. I reckon you've got to keep that corner section to keep the original style. Plan to do a similar cut just a bit further back into the corner (moved diff further back) - bit worried about my fibreglass though

I took an elderly friend for a drive up to the top of the Akatarawa Road, and part way along Odlins Road. He lost his wife earlier this year. He certainly enjoyed the drive, and the coffee and cake at the cafe at Staglands.

Something in the front disc brake as it got very noisy for a while along Odlins Road, but shortly after we turned around it went away again. Had me worried for a while.

The Jeep is now clean after last weeks trip to Terawhiti, first the water blaster and then a nice warm bucket of car wash. Will have to get underneath tomorrow and check around the transfer case, there was quite a bit of mud & grass jammed up around there.

Cheers

I as on here last evening when I got a phone call about 9:45 was my sister and her boyfriend gone out in his truck down the Ashley and had gone down a bank and ended up with his bullbars on the ground at the bottom. So he was asking for a tow.

Its a fairly big wild area where he was and in those sort of places its hard to describe where you are its all just willow trees, broom, long grass, tracks and ditches which go on for ages and is lots worse in the dark. We normally identify areas by past events and then try remember how to get there. He mentioned that it was the same bank I got stuck on another time so I instantly knew where he was and fortunately I have spent a fair bit of time there and know the linking tracks.

Jumped in my truck and went and pulled him out, went for a wee strop along some other good tracks and came home about 10:15.

Today I'm planning working on my rental house, rung the tenant last night to confirm I'd be there some time after 9 (didn't feel like getting up too early to head over there and it gives him some time too) and he said "I hope not too early", I said "no it will be after 9 and before 10". "Mate!" he says "its the weekend and stuff, make it 11." Normally I'm there on a sunday at 9:30 but some how this weekend its too early - hmm some people take life too easy, not as though he works hard all week or late at night - infact I think work and him don't belong in the same sentence. Looks like I'll be looking for another tenant - Sundays are my only day I get to do much and if they are gonna be cut into half days its not gonna work!

Did a wide axle conversion to my fathers LN106 (hilux doublecab)
I contacted Jafa (SNR Toyota 4WD parts) about machining us up some a short time back, rather than importing from the US.
