tow ropes

hi silly question is 20mm nylon (its white and think its nylon) rope ok for tow/recovery ropes as I have 150 mtr coil at home

you need to ask the manufacturers if it has stretch in it.
if the coil has something written on it, let us know. Theres bound to be someone on here that can tell you what it is.

Splice eyes in the ends of lengths of it and it would be great for towing ...
I am not sure about using it for snatching ... it depends on how much stretch it has ...
does your drum have any info on it ??

sorry nothing on the coil came with my yacht(for sale if any one wants to buy it) will ask the rope place around the corner from home or anyhelp from here

its probably a static rope that dosent have much/any stretch?

If it's anchor rope it will probably have some stretch in it to absorb sudden loading from swell, etc when attached to the bottom of the sea bed. Is it like this

... 3 strand nylon displays exceptional strength, and will last 4-5 times longer than natural ropes. It is easy to handle, knot and splice, and can stretch up to 46% before breaking....
That's what
this site says about 20mm nylon rope.
Or it could be
polyester 
(looks pretty similar to me) which apparently has a lower breaking strain and less stretch.

might try a unwrap a bit a try streching withthe ute
