I know someone who has a freshly rebuilt series 80 case with all new Genuine Toyota parts & a rebuilt 5 speed & he's willing to split them & wants like $600-700 for the T/case ( he was building them for a 15B-FFT conversion into his series 70 , then dropped it as gettn late VX instead )- if he's interested , give us a PM & will give you his details ! ( I was going to get it in a few months time , but if your mate could beat me to it if he's quick enough )

ok found out today that its his actual transmission that is stuffed...apparently it's fine when it's cold but once you've gone about 5kms it drops out of drive. he's got a second trans that apparently shudders.

trans is stuffed,quick fix

all the broken and worn out stuff ends up in the pan, after 5 kms the trans sucks all this crap on to the pickup/filter starving the oil pump when you turn it off all falls off the pickup....remove pan clean out the crap and sell it!!! if the other one shudders its probably got a crook torque converter, toyota autos are pretty good but if you dont change the oil in them regular like, they can fail like anything else
