It's not necessary to join a club immediately. There are a good group of people in Wgtn that reside on ORE and organise trips quite regularly. Even if you want to post a new topic in the "Planning a trip?" section saying "Hey, I'm going for a cruise around Red Rocks next weekend... anyone want to come?" there are bound to be a few people go. I think there are a couple of people doing that this weekend actually. Check out http://www.offroadexpress.co.nz/modules ... pic&t=7174.
Have a look in the "Planning a trip?" section here and pick a trip to come on with us.
I'm not saying "don't join a club", just don't feel like you have to immediately.
We hope to see you out and about at some stage. If you have any questions about anything just fire away and someone will share a fine pearl of wisdom with you.

Yeah, what he said, if you sit back a bit and just piggy back on others for a while, listen to what each club is about and then pick one from there, they all have their + and - or you can choose not to join one and pay a little extra if you want to go out on there trips.
Or if you want to do a certain trip, ask Jerry to organise it for you, thats what most of us slack bastards do around here

The only gear you really need for Red Rocks is a spade, a snatch strap/rope and preferably some rated (and suitably mounted) towhooks for people you recover you out of the sand. The other usual stuff is a fire extinguisher or two, a first aid kit, and an emergency blanket.
Some of the stuff you just build up as you go, but those are the main things that you need. If you need help with purchasing/mounting tow hooks then contact stinky. He sells them, has a workshop, and does custom bar work, etc.
Take a bit of cash with you as well... a few years back I got stuck around there in a car (back when I was young and stupid) and had to pay a guy in a 4wd to pull me out of the soft gravel just on dark. He was a bastard, but I was happy to be out for the $40 that he charged me
Yo, got a nice shiny trip you can come on on Sunday

yep i would be keen
is the $15 dollars is that per person or per 4wd? my mate wants to come along for the ride? how much time is spent over there time for a fish??? There is a good towbar and bullbar on the ute so if i get stuck will be easy to pull out.. i hope! so if you can think of any thing i may need lets me no cheers blair
Trip fee is per vehicle generally , the trip fee for this trip is $15 for land access and to cover your day insurance as you probably aren't a 4wd assn member yet then add $5.
PS may as well come along to the Training trip in Oct as well...
