I can't believe I started the ball rolling 2 weeks in a row.

My weekend started tonight, when one of the guys from work had his car sink into a tomo on his front lawn. the pics don't do it any justice. the hole is at least a metre deep and will probably get bigger I think.
I just hooked up a strop real short and gently pulled it out.

Then I got to perve on his missus flatmate, then I had to go home coz the poor wee fella was straining my fly trying to get out.

The rest of the weekend will be taken up by me moving out of home. The ex finally sorted her shit out, so I'm gone.

did an oil change on the cruiser today and on jens ford.

then went and rescued my bothers friend who had left his truck for 2 days on a slippery hill side .

got my new powersteering box after work and just finshed putting it in, taking a snack break before bleeding it need a snack after a few beers as is custom while working on a 4wd.

Pulled off white rims on cherokee and replaced with standard ones, whities to go on Wrangler, (as soon as Jerry sorts his garage out with more 33's for me )

Tomorrow:

oil change to do on a SS Commodore.

Get the spare 33 on the Wrangler, see if i can find a steering damper. Eliminate knock where tailpipe hits towbar bracket. Investigate "miss". Gear up for Sunday.

friday got money out of bank, put money in wallet, lost wallet, flailed limbs frantically tryin to locate wallet, recieved phone call from a lady that had found afore mentioned wallet, with money still in it!!.. with the amount of money in there, i didnt think i'd ever see it again.. there are some good bastards left around huh?!!!

saturday lookin after sick family.. all sick except me, till work monday which is when i'll contrive the sickness.. also, whilst sitting here looking out the windows, i see the slight rain drizzling down and breathe a sigh of relief that i ended up not goin for a play down the mak.. open top rusty = saturated nib's..

Easy job really, off with the grill, 2 easy bolts on the shroud and 4 easy bolts from the front, must have bricks inside it by the weight of it, cleand out the back, was looking at building a box at the back and installing another (club) radio but ran out of time today.[/img]

so far today went out to my brother inlaws to make up my sill bars. Got them all cut up and bent and one ready to be welded on. Tomorrow will weld them on and hopefully weld my new exhaust on to.

Went for a play on the Kowai Riverbed, Just north of CHCH, I think it's the first time I have seen water at the main highway bridge before.

Needed to try out the new rims and 33's, now need to flare some rear guards, and sort out the lifting the rear a bit to balance with the torsion bar wind.
Ours is the Isuzu Bighorn.

Was good to be part of a small group of similar 4WD's out for a play, even if the weather was a bit murky.

The Suzuki was a laugh, didn't have to many probs, other than wiping off the exhaust system

Been out to red rocks, got stuck in pea metal gravel, got pulled out, saw Basics and co, played in mud at bottom of terawhiti station, came out, drove through sum puddles, went home.

Very fulfilling day really!!

Went for skid with a few guys to test out the lastest improvements to The 50.

Started off at 7:30 in the pouring rain, loaded on the trailer, soaked already

Hit the track aboot 9:45 with 5 trucks, still pouring down (50's still got no wipers) the holes were deep, the clay was slipery, what more can you say, ideal conditions!!!!!!

Watched some guys in another group in there hacks drinkin bourbon do some serous damage around a slip untill we got pissed off with waiting for them and the mess they were making of the track, so gave the last couple of vehicles a tow through.

Got our group passed the slip (did i mention it was pissing down??) thanks to a Chev powered Cruiser and carried on up in the rain.

Got to the top and the same cruiser got put to work helping the clowns (who were all pretty pissed by this time) recover a surf that had rolled 4 times off the side of the sumit track.

Headed back down to the cross roads and had a good play. Got to put my winch into action when i got my self into a tricky spot between a couple of trees. Nath wasn't so lucky and munched his drivers side A pillar and smashed his front windscreen (long cold drive home in the rain for him).

Carried on down from there to the play ground in the pines and took the LJ for a swim. Got wedged on a fallen tree and bent the steering, turned the cab into a mobile foot spa full of muddy water, got absolutly plastered in mud, nearly put it on its side and generally had a ball.

Headed back down with no drama other than makin a promise that gettin the wipers hooked up was moved up the priority list. Had a bit of a play on the hill ouut by the gate. Good fun in the wet.

All up a bloody good day, very wet, make that farkn wet, but heaps of fun.

Let it be know, The 50 is The Shit!!!!!!!!!

Big clean up mission tomorrow, looks like it will be getting a water blast inside as well as out

(was so wet and miserable, no one wanted to be standing round with camera's, so don't think we got any pic's or vids)

So winding up the front was enough to fit 33's under the front ??

Why do you need to flare the rear guards are the tyres wider or are they rubbing somewhere ??

Went to work this morning (saturday) untill 1pm. Then came home and Red_zuki gave me a hand to start re-asmebling the disco front end. Then Turoa turned up later on to finish off the job. We went to the CCVC prize giving night for dinner came home and almost completed the front end but thort #### it after drinking copious amounts of "V" drink. And so here we are typing nearly 2pm sunday morning Will wake tomorrow hopefully not 2 late to finish the front end and test it (hopefully it will have stopped shaking ) will post pics tomorrow....maybe if I remember

I had a fair idea from the photo's, I thought I could see wire ply...

That said, he said he did quite a bit of driving on them after that happened (ie, nelson and back!! ) and that it held air perfect, no wobbles (it was on the front), so.......

still, if someone has a spare one, condition unimportant, so long as it's better than that one

oh, and for the price, it was worth it for 3!!!

Just got back from the BoP club champs - bit of a disapointment today - only 8 trucks competing & only 2 started the final hazard!! Unfortunately I wasn't one of them - broke the rear diff well Neil did - he was driving at the time NOT ME

changed the brake pads on the front of the bug.. 5 bloody hours... they were a tad rusty and full of crap.. o well at least the new pads cost a massive $2 at repco

I used to clean my rad after every mud trip in central! It has never been that caked though. do you use a tarp on the front ?
