Hi All

Just wondering when a cam chain has to be done for a 4M40T 2.8 Pajero motor.
Some people said never, but i am sure this is NOT the case
vehicle has done just over 200K

Most of the time they start getting noisy first there is also a tensioner in there. I have a Hilux that has done 300000km I checked it and there is a little movement but still within factory tolerance. You will need to change it one day the advice i have had is do it when you need to do major engine work rings and piston's. I just did the rings and checked it not too worried about the 4y waiting for it to die  and it is putting up with all the punishment I have been giving it.
