Self-induced Battery Charging Problems

I dropped into a rather deep mudhole, well over the depth my bonnet, since then my alternator refuses to supply charge to my battery, hopefully it's something simple like water in one of the plugs...
can anyone suggest anyone in the chch area that may be able to diagnose and/or quote on what would be required to sort out the problem?

Have you run the hose thru it...they don't really work that well when full of mud

see if u can get er44 sprayed over ya windings and armature to help incase of further over heating as if it gets too hot can blow the varnish appart on the windings ... how do i know this because ive rebuilt a few alternaters for varius people and i learnt this by fixing problems with mine ... now it only have problems with my brushes
