Im looking at putting my TD42 into a truck with a TB42. The petrol truck is a manual and the diesel a auto. So I want to end up with a diesel manual. Will this bolt straight in? Are the bell housings different for the different boxes? Would it be easier to swap the manual box into my auto truck? :?

From memory the TB42 starter motor has 2 bolts to the bell-housing, but TD42 start motor has 3 to the bell-housing (that may be the other way round?). Engine mounts are the same. Make sure you use the diesel engine fan as it pulls more air that the TD42 needs for cooling.

What are you going to do with the TB42 afterwards?

I thought I'd sell if off on trademe if it's worth anything. Apperantly it goes well. The owner is spending the winter in Southern France or somewhere. But I will hopefully T things up with him when he gets back in a month or so.
