Yole, I was there, it was wet, it was cold, but it was good. Not sure on placings as I had to leave before prizegiving to get back home. I think most had a good weekend though. Duh, just found this,

We Came
We Saw
We fell in a hole, broke stuff, hit trees & ran out of gas.
It was fun though, & Klems Hilexusann is starting to work pretty well.
Cheers

So my neighbour came 6th in Shermin

I had wondered why it was parked outside the local engineers last week.
that points system is a bit weird

some crazy BS descending maths weighted to a 11th placing or above - nearly as dopey as yachting regatta scoring.

Good comp had fun
Lots of brake downs, most impressive was Arron snapped the whole knuckle and ball off in stile on stage 3
We blu a turbo on the last stage with a huge cloud of smoke an still managed to ground ancor anther 400 meters before it started to run on the oil leaking from the turbo

Hit a tree and got a DNS (penalty for hitting pine tree) on one stage. Broke a rope and DNF'd on another stage.

He didn't win this time. Others had better runs through the stages.
Justin didn't roll his truck so that helped.
There was abit of carnage out in the forest.
Trucks blowing winches and PTO drives and falling over etc.
Off course the highlight was running out of fuel while winching a steep bank on Sunday.
Just normal winch challenge stuff.

Is Steve building a new truck after getting rid of the Disco??

Steve is building a new truck somthing a bit lower.
he thinks lower with twice the horse power is going to stop him rolling over every comp
Should be up and running next year
I hope no one got any photos of Steve on stage six, he lost his track pants in the big mud hole and came out in his undies
Not a pretty picture

I was looking after SS 6 with sarmajor and I'm sorry to say that there were two magazine photographers on the stage and I'm sure we will see Steve's undies real soon.
And BrentC, i can explain the points system if you want. Its pretty simple.

I was marshalling on SS 3 where Aaron broke his truck. He went nearly vertical and the back wheels were about two feet off the ground!
After landing
Winching himself three wheeled across the quarry floor
The damage

It's ok George I understand it and the arguements for and against - all very similar to when I was on yachting rules committees
