Hope you lot enjoy watching this clip as much as we all enjoyed doing it. It was done at the Waimak today. I had my partners two kids and my own two kids seat belted safe and sound in the back. My partner was taping it.

I wish I had of known my front locker wasn't on. But then it might not have looked so entertaining. I wouldn't of done the last plug unless I saw another 4 wheel driver about. He was from ORE to! "Dozer" someone? Wish I had of remembered your full ORE nic name. Was good to meet you.

Here's the URL.
After it gets to 2 minutes i suggest playing it at FULL volume! :D

It sounded like a jet boat! :D

You should of heard the kids in the back at the time.
It was hard concentrating on the driving while assuring the kids everything was ok. I must say. I haven't been that deep before. Was great to get it on camera.

Thanks for the comments guys! :salut:

I respect your comment. But I'd put my life before my kids. I'd seen some else go through that section before and had an idea just how deep it was. It would have to be another three feet deeper for anyone to be in any danger (in my opinion). I take my kids 4 wheel driving when ever I can.
But thank you for your thoughts all the same.

It would be interesting to hear what others think about taking people 4 wheel driving.

I didn't mean to talk in a negitive way about this clip. :(

Regards,
Pete.

one of the reasons i enjoy this sport is the fact that you can take anyone with you and as long as they are sensible almost everyone has a good time

i must admit the waorry in your partners voice was very entertaining

Most people believe you have to doing mega speeds to have the shit scared out of you in a vehicle. When 4wding, this just isn't the case, and if anything does go wrong, it is at a much slower rate, giving most people time to react. When deep water is involved (especially with the chance of a rollover) you have to be bit more carefull.

Still as long as the new people you take out listen to what you tell them to do, it is good fun watching their faces and listening to their comments.
My 12 yr old had Nibby slightly puckering up when he was driving olerusty (with Nibbs in the passengers seat) on some sidlings. Funny as shit.
My best effort was to have Goose getting all excited when we took him on a rock miision. (and he wasn't even in the car :!: )

I don,t think anybody intentionally puts others at danger, but you have to read each situation on it's merits, and remember, that if they are your passengers, you are responsible for their safety when they are in your truck.

PS. Good clip Pete, Luvin' the noise that bitch makes

how else are you gonna get them interested in 4wding instead of hooning around the streets killing thier mates whilst racing.

Every year we attend a scout camp where we take the kids 4wding. They do as they're told and luv every minute of it. We go thru mud, water and I even take them up very steep hills and give them a speed blast on the flat. So long as the driver knows what hes doing and isn't stupid then nothing should go wrong.

Just look at the joy on these kids faces..........................

the more people we can get into this pastime the better it is for the future of 4wding.

You can't tell me that none of you have memories of someone taking you for a hoon when you were young.

everyones gotta have a nag about something  i think its great people can get out with there familys and i think if your responsible enough to bring up a family and everything that comes with it, you are responsible to make the call on the day if its safe for them or not, hell sometimes its alot safer for kids to stay in trucks than it is for them to get out, well done pete keep doing what your doing. And to the rest, how many things are there left in this world that a family can all enjoy and spend time together,

Heh funny you should mention that, brings back memories of when i was real young and in the scouts, we were in a camp in the bush somewhere accessible by some goat track and it rained so much we were going to have to walk out as cars couldn't obviously get in anymore but a group of 4wders happened by and kindly removed the whole camp back out to the awaiting cars. And at another camp a group of ex army ww2 vehicles that were passing took us for joy rides up a hill and over some pretty cool terrain, my favorite was the willys jeep :D Also my dad had LR's from when i was 2 till about 5 when we lived in papa new guinea and ohakune and took us kids for rides. So yeah in my experience I think it has a lasting influence for sure 8)

Definitely keep taking em,

Mike

You're right. Now you mention it, I remember times when i was 12yrs old and being bounced around in the back of a 4X4. They were great memories. I know my partner's and my kids will look back at this weekend in the same way. And they might even have youtube to use to refresh they memory even clearer.

Thanks guys.

Cool! 20yrs to wait ain't that bad. I was the same age to, but I waited 31yrs before I got back into it.

And I'm with you, i only do things that i know are safe also.
But I still do respect swampa's thoughts.

My 7 year old loves going on trips with me and has told me that I am not allowed to sell the TJ as he'll take it over when gets his license in a few years ...

All of us take calculated risks, as long as you are comfortable with the risk and possible consequences, its your conscious decision. I tend to be more careful when my son is with me but that because he might go back home and tell on me... You need to expose kids to all the fun things or they'll be sitting in front of TV/computers like zombies.

If you call "excited"; me thinking (twice, I might add!!) that I was about to make a 200M downhill dash to pick up the pieces that were left of you....

There's something that's just quite wrong about seeing your small building on 2 wheels......
For those of you who are unsure what I'm talking about, this was near the fricken bottom!!! Mad bastards!!
