the mudcedes spring perches finally

okay be warned i haven´t finished yet hopefully that will happen next weekend but that depends on if my welder is available

so today i started taking things apart and getting things ready to do the cutting and welding

first things first remove the spring need a spring compressor umm haven´t got one handy oh well how about this

i´m not at all dodgy :lol:

then i looked at the perch and the body and thought if i lift the body up it should make the job alot easier

i just had to work out how to lift it up a little away from the chassis that towball will do it :lol:

redneck bodylift don´t worry it is only temporary :lol:

and see now heaps of room to get a grinder and welder in there

and here is the bit that will be going in to replace it

so hopefully next weekend i will have more to report

so i decided to do a bit more on my wagen tonight all was going well until there was a bit of arcy stuff and a cloud of smoke bugger

serves me right for buying a cheap grinder :lol:

woohoo all welded in place now

started out all ground ready for the new bit

welded in place

painted matt black of course

reassembled

i decided to cut one of the old ones up and see what it looked like inside

not the best :shock:

woohoo so it is all good and back on it´s own wheels again
just got a couple of rust holes to fix in the body now and it should be ready for a WOF

yeah the new holes are much larger than the old ones and i will make sure they are always unblocked

after i fix the 2 rust holes i have to deal with then i will look at the turbo diesel engine swap and the hydraulic winch that is all i have on the list at the moment

woohoo a little more to report got the mudcedes back from the panelbeater today no rust holes in the body now yay
just got to reassemble it which is my plan for the weekend and then i should be able to get a warrant next week woohoo :lol:
