well im gonna start this off early as its about the weekend
managed to get the roll cage brace in and harness mounts done (cheers dix

) and fitted it all up, as well as the little race seat for the boy

how cool
cage brace to mount harnesses to
kiddy race seat held in by seat belt which then has a 4 point harness to strap the kid in and as well as that ive got the 4 point race harnesses going over top of the lot to really make it impossible for him to come out
will take him for a propper ride this weekend instead of just trundling around the paddocks here

im shit with names, but he was a cool dude and mentioned that there is a waikato club open weekend (open to NZFWDA members) out at Karakariki last weekend of Jan i think he said. might be a good trip by the sounds of it,hard tracks for tough trucks and shiney options for not tough trucks. something to think about

I like the look of the kid's seat, what brand is it? How old is your kid and what sort of weight are they? Are you going to make them wear a helmet as well?
I'm looking into this as well for my son. There are some seats with very built up sides for side imact protection like a Maxi Rider 2 which I was going to go with.

Pre-weekend - pulled out the 4 speed box & put in a 60 series 5 speed. Swapped the front springs for the 60 ones (centred pin so front axle forward 40mm, flipped the rear springs so the rear end is 100mm further back to match the extra length of the gearbox so I don't have to shorten the rear D/S. 60 rear end to widen wheel track. To-do list for the weekend - doctor up the gear & transfer stick covers to suit the slight move rearwards of the sticks, sort out shock mounts, lengthen PTO driveshaft, then start measuring & marking for the 60 power steering kit to go in. Next week will get the front D/S sorted by shortening the 60 series rear to fit. Meantime I'm rear wheel drive only....

He he reminds me of this that I read of an Heroin addict who was trying to give up...
"I made a decision; Yes, I would take heroin but only on weekends, Friday evenings to Sunday night. That was the drug of recreation for me. So that’s the way it was, nearly every day during the week I was taking cannabis, but at the weekend I would take heroin.
"Now sometimes I would do some good business, I would make some money during the week and Thursday evening — well it’s almost the weekend, and so I’d have a little bit of heroin and start the weekend just a little bit early but from Thursday through to Sunday that was the days I’d take heroin, no other day. See, I knew what I was doing. I’m not going to get addicted, uh uh, I’m too clever to get an addiction. Only from Thursday through to Sunday.
"Well alright, sometimes on a Monday morning you’d have that kind of a hangover that’s left and if you want to clear it you take just a little bit and it clears that hangover and you feel kind of okay again.
"Well once you’ve had some Monday morning you might as well have some Monday afternoon to get the buzz on. But hey! Thursday to Monday — only at the weekend — I’m not going to get addicted; I know what I’m doing here.
"So that was it Thursday to Monday — well Tuesday night, Thursday to Tuesday, I’m not going to get addicted. Wednesday I quit — I mean, hey! I didn’t have any on Wednesday — and then if you feel a little bit rough on Wednesday and you know there’s something there that’s going to give you that bit of a lift…
"Then one day the weekend came, Thursday evening the weekend started and it just went on week after week after week."
...(full article available if any one interested)
We have some 4x4 addicts round here!

looks good, but I gotta agree with Turoa here, its a speed day and things can go horribly wrong at speed and the ground hurts more when you roll at speed. you say you're not planning on rolling it anytime soon

NEITHER WAS I, BUT IT HAPPENED WHEN I LEAST EXPECTED IT.
like the boy scouts always say "BE PREPARED"
Also, why did you not loop the harnesses back thru the metal clip thingy instead of tying them in a knot.
Also, what kind of helmet do you plan on using for the boy at the speed day.

He looks real excited sitting in the beast.

You DONT want to be adopted by him, believe me, he would make you go some really strange and odd places. make you carry guns, do fishing, carry packs, stuff like that. Dunno WHERE he gets these mad ideas from. Probly his dad.
