Ouch!!!!
Try American Formost Whole Sale Equipment (AFWE), my AVM hubs for the Terrano were $270. (09)2560632

In the meen time, you could just see if you could source the flanges that go in place of the hubs that come out on the later model ones with electronic dissconecting differential system. Allot of surfs come with them to. Don't know if the would fit of course.

You could also probably make them at work. Just gotta get the spline in the center right

Manual hubs

For those 4x4 owners with electric hubs i have come up with a way of converting them to manual . It would be cheeper option than buying new locking hubs & a conversion kit . For any enqires you can contact me at oldblue@clear.net.nz

4 WDparts here in Ch CH do a conversion kit, a flog s/h manual hubs from HiLuxes and so forth, certainly cheaper than replacing electric hubs, 960 dollars each, + something for the Cullen fund last time I asked.

Manual Hubs

In my earlier reply i should of said that my conversion is removing the electric motor and macheing up a dummy one. It is turned from the outside by a 3mm hex spanner. So no need to buy a cnversion kit or freewheel locking hubs. My past involment with conversion kits is they work lose all the time

i was talking to ray at delta 44wd parts and he showed the latest superwinch hubs which apparently just replace your automatic hubs and only take about an hour to do.. think there around $350 thou

Hi Bill

I have some good 2nd hand AVM manual hubs from an older Toyota. If they are able to be fitted and you want them you can have them for $50 plus freight (I'm in Upper Hutt).

If anyone else out there knows if they'll fit - with or without a conversion kit could you let us know.

Cheers

manual hubs

Post by oldblue »

early axles are corse spline, up to 1974 then they went to 30 splines on the axles. You only need spacers if you are taking off electric hubs and want to go to manual, witch are on Prados or landcruisers from 1990 onwards
