Safaris are a bloody good truck

But I have heard that the 2.8 is under powered

you should look for a 4.2

I've heard the 2.8 is underpowered, but know of owners out there more than happy with them.
I personally prefer the 4.2, as it is pretty bullet proof, and I'm unsure how the 2.8 last with higher milage

Under powered? Wanna race? hahahahaha
Maybe for towing, but as for general road use, they will blow a 4.2 out of the water. Ive had several people think my truck was a 4.2. They were VERY suprized to know it was only 2.8. Id buy another one over a 4.2 anyday. Same horse power on paper.

The RD28-T powered vehicles are alot cheaper, so for the same price as a well used TD42 powered truck, you can find a RD28-T with alot less km's on it and in better condition.
The RD28-T's can be a bit fragile and not much chop for towing. TD42 gives you the flexibility to upgrade with a modest turbo setup in the future.
