brake noises

the brakes on the left rear os my bighorn ars squealing when driving around.
the noise stops when breaking, it looks like the pad is touching the disk making the noise
how is this fixed :?:

hammer? CRC? Earmuffs? :lol:

kidding you may be at the change pad point the piston may not be returning or you could have gravel in there or even a bearing.

you have to pull the wheel and the pads as if you were doing a pad change compress the piston (it may screw in) or plumbers grips slowly and spin the wheel and see if the noise is still there report back when done. :shock:

one of each pair of pads on mine have the metal strip on them that squeals when the pads wear down they contact the disc when you put your foot on the break and squeals
Then as the pad wears down more the strip contacts most of the time.
this is a likely cause and one of the easiest to check.

turns out it was the clasp thing that holds the pad to the piston thing.. :roll:

it had bent and wasnt bringing the pad back from the disk, and it was just resting there all the time...
all fixed now

by the way there was only about 3-4 ml left on the pads.
is it time for a change?

It depends how much you thrash it ... you will certainly need to do them within a month if the wear on mine was anything to go by
