Hi there,
Looking to get some service type manuals for my newly acquired KZJ78. I've seen that there is a gregory's supplement book for the 1KZ engine, can anyone recommend the best book for everything else?
Thanks,
Mal

There isn't one as such... you just have to use 70 series cruiser one..

Nice if you have a Toyota dealer in your neighborhood that has these! If you find a source, I have paypal.
Now...what about the engines? I need to do that coolin' stuff.

Thanks for that...but when you said expensive, you meant it! That's the cost of all the brake parts and the two oiil and air filters.

i can supply the RM183 cheaper than that but shipping will kill the deal...
you blokes down under really get it up the butt from your Toyota dealerships, eh?

Wayne, I'm interested in a manual, but mostly for the engine and I wonder if one manual will do for engine and body. Please advise as the Ellery I bought is sorta adequate for many things Toyota but I need the engine specs for the exhaust and clutch fan changes I'm considering.
It also would be nice to have a decent description of how to install things like a pyrometer and a real coolant temperature guage. I should search for that on the diesel site or the IH8Mud site. If a manual at least had some larger blowups of the turbo, rad, and engine block areas I would be happier to spend significant $.
You're talking to a neotype mechanic with lots of respect for what can screw up when you're trying to put on aftermarket gizmos.

this is for the LJ engine? then i have the manuals here but they do NOT cover the elec fuel control. the basic engine is covered.
it is a seperate manual from the RM183E
ask for engine manual RM169E (2LT & 3L) out of production for Canada but i have a dozen reprints sitting here i made up for my customers (before i stopped selling those trucks)
Table of contents:
Intro
engine mechanical
Turbocharger
Fuel (NOT elec controled)
Cooling
Lubrication
Starting
Charging
as for the pyro install i have some good write ups on Mud...

Wayne, that sounds just like the one? Could you direct me to your site or a phone number and I'll order it before I forget. Assuming it is not $270!

Wayne, thanks for this! I'm not the type of guy that ususally fixes his own vehicles but I thought I'd at least take on some of the easy tasks. As I mentioned, the oil change was supposed to be easy but it rained all day and the filter wouldn't come off so had to drill it and use a screwdriver!
Looking forward to having more information!
