NZFWDA survey for SPARC results.

Post by madaz068 »

Hi everyone,
The NZFWDA conducted a survey over the last 3 weeks and the results are in. We had so many replies that the system was overloaded at one stage. Its good to see so many people interested in 4wding

I have this is a PDF and if anyone would like it please leave there email address and ill send it on.

Unless someone can tell me how to attach it into this forum

Thanks

I read it but I don't really follow its relevance? All I got was that most 4WDers like some mud somewhere in their offroad adventures and most 4wders don't like DOC... Nothing you needed to spend weeks surveying to find out really...

...or did I miss something else important in there?

I totally agree Supralux...at the time of doing it i couldnt see much relevance in the questions.
Maybe it would of been better if they asked what we like & dont like about how 4wd access is managed etc.

As the compiler of the survey, I used questions that paralleled the questions posed by SPARC. Yes, most of them confirm what many four wheelers may themselves know but the NZFWDA needed to have that validated if we are going to make statements about our recreation.

Such surveys allow the NZFWDA to build representative data and we appreciate the effort from those who provided input.

Thanks Peter, so its more about having some valid and official data than anything else? But data for what exactly?

Some background on the survey - its objectives and reasons for actually coming into existence would probably help... on its own that survey means very little IMHO...

The ministers of conservation and sport/recreation have tasked SPARC to lead a review of outdoor recreation and a panel of recreational representatives has been established.

As part of the "wish list" process, SPARC have asked many outdoor recreations so create a "position paper" as a basis on which to start the discussion.

They've outlined some common questions as a guide and those are what set the survey. The exercise now is to craft a position paper by Sept 17.
