FJ40 toy

Post by squid »

Hi all.
Son and I recently picked up a 75 FJ40 that has been well loved and used but now ready for a make over. Has winch, lift, 35 simex extremes and 33 BFG for the road. Disc brakes front, power steer, suspension mods etc.

Step one is a roll bar or cage so we pulled the roof and sides off today to explore options and so it fits in the garage to sort some other issues out.
At this stage it will remain a rag top so I would be interested in ideas where to get a bar made and remain street and club legal.
It will be used for club trips and for general 4Wd fun.

Based in Auckland.

Thanks

I became a member here AFTER I spent shit loads on my 40 repowering it. I wished I'd got advice from here first. I might of saved myself thousands of dollars.
Good luck with your project! Sounds like you've started with something special.

I put a few pics in albums so search "squid" not much to see

I will contact Glen thanks Madaz

Pete,
Last owner said it needs a V8 but for now I just want to get it running nice and reliable and then decide the future plans and $$$$ later. No immediate Hurry unless it drops a woopsey (S*# ts itself).

Then the wifes kitchen is on hold for emergency repower.....

Just a wee tip instead of trying to find a page in the photos just search the name of the person.

I couldnt tell you what page my pics are on I allways just search my name. easy as
