where can i get a safari body lift kit

Post by muskie »

i am assuming it is a reasonably easy job on a manual gearbox swb safari but any pitfalls or problems?? i expect the rear brake hoses will need lengthening. but are there any other problems i should know about, radiators etc. or is there a link to doing the lift on here.

thanks

Half asleep when I read the question  Some people need to extend their fuel filler hose

Bit more info for ya, http://www.gqpatrol.com/bodylift/index.htm although I'd seriously consider why you actually want to do one. Most top comp trucks don't even have a body lift.

Cheers, Jeff.

Up to the individual but I would never use Rancho's on a Safari.

Basically to wimpy for the job. I've seen them fail in all sorts of ways, bent rods, broken rods, mounts breaking off, underdamped, leaking etc.

Yup, bang for buck I reckon an OME kit is the way to go, no stuffing around, the kits lift the amount they should and they last. I've had mine in for over 3 years and they have had a reasonable beating, it hasn't sagged at all and the shocks are all still as new.

Cheers, Jeff.
