Hi Ya all,

Well my temporary runabout that i use while the surf is getting fixed just sustained a nudge by a concrete pillar in an car park building dam it! Being a little toyota starlet the nudge kinda took the whole guard out.

What I want to know is where would be the best place to get a guard from and get painted? I don't normmmmmmaally dent things this bad ie the guard is absolutely farked

Any suggestions?

btw im not in the mood for crap off topic smart ass replies to be posted in here.

Depends what shape starlet.

There used to be a guy over by the old show grounds that had all that type of stuff and was reasonable to work with - I got a set of Toyota Echo seat from him for a Morris Minor van project - but I see he's gone.

Not sure if its him shifted or another guy but there is a toyota car wrecker on Buchanans Road / Racecourse Road about where they meet Waterloo Road but on the other side - also seems reasonable to work with but have never bought any thing from him.

If its a RWD starlet try Dead Cars he might have something.

There is always Ace Toyota - not so cheap or easy sometimes, seems to depend who you get - but they have never had the bits I'm after...

Talk to Darren... the painter from PQ - he's still keen to do repair work I think... he's a rep for fortec? paints now but lives out near me somewhere - I see him quite a bit around here...

Or cut it down and truggy it :P I have a spare transfer case here :P

oh yea one more thing, 85 front wheel drive makes it the ep70 i think, but they came out with two different gards one had indicator at rear of gard, and newer ones (87 and on) had them at the front. But i was pretty sure the black and silver ones were the newer ones with indicator at the front??? so which one is it? and yea pics!!!

Just had a look. there is an indicator just in front of the wheel arch, a small one. none in the very front (thats the park light), it has indicators in the bumpers as well.

pics of the damage?? perhaps when i get home and if the camera has batteries

A momentary loss of concentration can cause so much damage/time and money. I guess if we were all wicked drivers panel beaters and the likes would be out of business.
