go the rocky i have both and have almost finished building the desiel one into a trials truck.
the feroza (F300) 1.6L goes well offroad just could do with a little more power and difflocks ( cant get them) i run a set of 31's offroad and have no troubles goin most places best bit is the lowest point is the rear diff, so you can get through some realtively deep ruts with a little right foot.
have a look at this link here to see how mine goes.

if ya want to know anything else about them just ask me i love mine and would only swap or up grade to a toyota but hang on daihatsu is part of toyota so i might just stay where i am

Check out this thread as well

This was my previous truck ...love the new barwork

plenty of power, the gearing and diff ratio's hold it back a lot, a good mod would be to put under 4.3 - 4.8 hilux/prado diffs and maybe lower gearing. Quite a solid wee truck. Max tyre size 31" without serious mods.

well in those pics all ive done it thrown the bigger tyres on and a 3 inch over standard spring hanger swap and all shocks removed.
but now........
custom offset rims, 33x12x16 mongrels, 2inch body lift, rear hilux springs all round custom front bar, cut back off.
still to come when i get time is bar/ cage work and extend the drive shafts and brake lines and cut guards out
side veiw
