TD27T Questions

Post by Nav2NV »

Hey all

Im going to put a TD27T motor into my TD27 Navara.Im also wanting intercool it while im at it,and possibly increase the boost a tad.

Need some of your guys expert help.PLEASE

Ive got a few questions to ask,ill number them,so if anyone knows some answers/hints to a question, you can use that number to refer to that question, makes it easy for all.

6.Oil pans,i noticed the turbo oilpan has a extra deep section that hangs(in the terrano) between the G/Box and the Front diff. Will this be too low on a already low Navara and do i need to swap the non turbo oil pan over????

8. Whats the standard boost? How do i increase that? How much can i increase it too,and still be running it safely?

EDIT: removed all the questions i have answers to.Added a few more.

1.Can i use my non trubo injector pump on the turbo motor????

2. Can i simply unbolt the egr valve and pipe and block the ends off a small piece of steel bolted onto flanges?

3.whats size exhaust should i run?

Cheers all,once again.

The Front Mount will be something along the lines of 450x 300 x 76.Deffinatly dont want a huge 'Car enthusiast' Type.I want something that wil hide behind my bumper niecly and be easy to plumb in.

Im in Hamilton so local shops preffered aye.

No,it comes off the manifold, not the turbo.

i think the pipe you talkin bout in q. 1 is the egr pipe wer it takes some exhust gases back into the intake to reduce emissions and combust it again

just block it off, it causes smoking probs when it sticks open anyway.

If they are the egr valves, my last 3 diesels have had them blocked off.

Bit of an update, got the motor out, stuck it on a pallet, which is on a trolley on wheels so i can wheel it around the garage.

Bought an intercooler
300x500x80, $80 trademe special.

Pulled turbo pipes off so i could acess the compressor and exhaust wheels, both have none to very minimal play both ways.

Pulled the Alt and Waterpump off to get them ready to be swapped over for my newer units

Just waiting for alll my parts to be bought.Still hunting a clutch kit and finding out about injector pumps.also looking at getting some flanges made up.

-2 to block off the egr pipe
-1 to adapt the intake elbow piece directly ontop the intake manifold to face towards the headlight to accept intercooler piping
-same with small bend ontop of turbo
-another to go onto the exhaust side of turbo for making a custom exhaust from there.

and lastly im waiting for a free weekend for motor swapping fun and games.

Cheers

Anyone got any answers re the boost questions?

Pretty dam easy to up the boost level but what do these run at standard and how much can they take before needing to upgrade other bits ie fueling, intake, exhuast, intercooler etc
Lets hit the bricks!
