SJ410 Fuel pump issues

Post by UBZ »

have been helping a mate fix up his SJ410 standard 1L engine and cant get any fuel to the carby

Have replaced inline filter, blown out the fuel lines, replaced all the hoses, flushed the fuel tank.

Pulled off the fuel pump and stripped it down , looked all good so reassembled

Still no fuel out of the pump :(

Any ideas ,are we missing something simple :? :?

Looks like the next step is to buy a new fuel pump

on my little suzuki car with a mechanical fuel pump i was having trouble getting fuel to the carb i ended up undoing the fuel pump and with the hoses still connected i manually pumped the pump i think i cracked the banjo bolt going into the carb as welll i just pushed the lever against something a few times until fuel came out of the banjo put it all back together and all good now

2 bolts is better than a new pump

Cheers Mercutio

Pulled out the pump this evening after work and gave it a few pumps until it primed . Bolted it back in and she fired first time..

Took about 10mins all up. :) and saved $150 :D :D

Very good to know it wont prime by just turning the engine over.
