It's not a lie. If you pressurise your engine it can go underwater.

Has anyone worked out a good, reliable, way to supercharge a 3.8L? What supercharger, manifolding etc. How does the drive gearing / volumetric capacity of the blower affect power delivery. How much boost is safe without engine mods and how much extra paua does this give??? What about intercoolers?

If all else fails, is there any other way I can get that drive whine noise 8)

I know you can get gear drives to replace timing timing chains for ford & chev V8s.You can either get a quiet or a noisy gears. The noisy ones sound very similar to the whine you get with a blower.
No idea if you can get them for smaller engines.
Brands to google would be
Pete Jackson
Edelbrock
Summit Racing.

Also search on Buick V6 since the Holden V6 is effectively one of those... there are Buick superchargers available ex-USA I believe.

There are atleast 2 trucks doing national trials with supercharged commy V6s (supercharged ecotec commys I think??) One is Martin Waltons the other is Theo Spanbrook (sp??) old toy. surely be easier too start off with factory one rather than piss around building your own?? or maybe not :?
