are they any good
how much are they worth
how much does it cost to rebuild them
the reason i ask is i have a box with parts from about 3 holley carbs they aren´t any use to me and i was wondering if they are worth selling as is or if that is a waste of time

Depends what you want it for.....

I think from memory my 600 4bbl was $150 ish for a rebuild kit, including the power valve. Usually they are pretty reliable, but if you want the ultimate in reliable, go for an edelbrock. Bloody expensive though.

if they are 600 holleys, I could be interested in taknig them for spares.

Dont waste time or money on ya old Holleys,in my experience go and buy a new one (Bout $470ish) and you'll have no issues at all.Also in the holley range they make a 4wd version that feeds feul in at any angle but not sure on price. I just paid $900 for 2 brand new silver series 600VS Holleys,bolted them on to my Coupe and they run sweet

i have no idea what size they are from what i can work out there are 2 4 barrel and 1 twin barrel carbs in there but al i have is pieces and i am not even sure if all the pieces are there for any of them

i don´t need them i have a dieselnow they came with the old range rover i had that had a P76 motor in it

thats what all the guru's have always told me. I've had mine rebuilt twice in the last 2 years and the last time they charged me over $200 for it

I think the off road holleys the Truck Avenger or something like that?

mercutio, ill take one if you want to give them away/sell them one of the four barrel ones for my RR.

Holley Carbs are fine...ive had them on various motors & have been ok.
The most important thing is to make sure you have the correct carb for the motor & what you are using it for.
.If you have a carb that is too big it will be slow to accelerate & if its too small you wont be able to get it to rev to its full potential.

Here is a way to calculate it.

CID = Cubic Inch Displacemant of engine
MRPM = Maximum RPM which the engine will be used at.(Be honest dont dream this figure.)
CFM Cubic feet per Minute. (how much air can fit through the top of the carb per minute)

(CID / 2 ) X (MRPM / 1728) = CFM

This is only a very rough guide as you also have to take into account lots of other things such as super charged or not, volumetric efficency of the engine,temperature , density & mass of the air .Type of fuel also plays a massive part.
But this will give you a roungh idea.

on the carb main body on the air intake horn there is a stamped numbers ,it may start with # or list then there will be some more numbers under those. Can you post those please ?
