Hi there,
A little survey for NJ pajero owners:
I have 94 SWB with factory fitted allow bash plate installed.
This is supposed be replace the first part of black steal sump guard.
The second plate extends the bash plate and covers the sump to protect from objects.
What I realised was I do not have this second part.
I can see garage floor from engine bay.
Now, I am wandering that it is a standard practice that second part is taken off together when they fit alloy bash guard in Japan.
Those of who has alloy bash plate, do you have the second part covers your sump?
Cheers

Ok, nobody replying.
The original under guard of pajero is made by two parts.
One is just under bumper and called bash guard and another extend to the first cross-member to guard sump 9 sump guard).
I had quote for this second part MD6333452 for about $250.00 mark (importing from Japan).
I tried few second hand parts but had no hit.

well I just got a factory bash plate, and yes its bashed. it is quite soft thou, so take it off and bash it the other way straightens it up nicely.

I have only the first part just under the bumper.
My sump is well exporsed...

The genuine Mitsui one is $250.00 (incl GST).
I know it’s no hassle to fit but it bit steep, but….

Try a wrecker, there are loads of Pajeros around in wreckers, try and negotiate on price
Have a ring around on all their 0800 numbers too

It was $190 (incl GST) and I just got one and waiting to install.
Well, it's very thin tin plate but better than nothing to cover stering pars and so on.
I do not need to adjust ride hight for this, because it not heavy as I expected. So I take that as a positive side.

And even better, there is no diff housing hanging down to get hooked up when you have the skid plate on
Great in swamps etc
Follow these directions before enrting the swamp
1. Hit the gas - HARD
2. Redline into the swamp
3. Dont worry about smoke
4. As you enter swamp, keep on the gas, as the the front of the pajero lifts up, now you have a Hydrofoil!!
5. Just remember- No steering
Cheers
