Pre purchase Q on MU 2.6l Petrol

Hi all
Currently looking at a 1989 MU with the petrol 2600 engine.
It is the model without the canopy.
Are these reliable under stress (Club Runs)
Is the 2.6l underpowered (hill climbs)
Can you get a rear diff locker for them?
Low box as low as the diesel version?

Auction closes Sunday for the one I am looking at

have a 2.6 in a mazda it runs out of puff pulling up big muddy slopes , plus the 14 litres/ hundred 100 , is a bastard
89 safari, pto winch, 33x15 simexs. sliders,75mm lift . turbo intercoolered
