I am helping a friend sort out his Safari after it went for a swim.
There is a box in both foot wells
Which one is the computer ?? What do they do ... apart from hold water ???

As long as you didn't let the smoke out of the boxes :-) Is it an auto? Box in the LH footwell is the trans ECU, RH footwell is the glowplug box.

Cheers, Jeff.

OK, the LH side one is probably the reducer for the 12V supply.

I am trying to work out how much is 12 v and how much is 24 v

Are all the control relays 12 or 24v ?

What voltage are the dash lights etc ??

Im having some trouble wiring up a new cd player. I am aware that there's also a 12 volt power supply along with the 24volt. Can anyone answer from experience as to where i can find the 12 volt power supply? :?

Factory stereo should be 12v too, so just use those wires, or if unsure grab a multi meter and check

Yep, converter for stereo is in the lefthand footwell wall. glowplugs computer is in the righthand one. Spray them liberally with silicone spray and invest in a bilge pump. I did and no more problems when filling with water as it is pumping out faster then it can get in.

i just set up a new sound system in my one and ran every thing from the first battery in the series, because i found my cd player and amp would cut out with the standard supply when i turned it up loud, just use fuses and things if you do it like that, but will be ok, also have a 12 volt compressor hooked up to the one battery, its the left hand one under the bonnet. (looking from the drivers seat facing forward)

1 thing i was really disapointed in finding out was that the cigerette lighter was 24 volt too, and now have a cooked car phone charger!!

the things we learn!!!

How long have you run this setup? If you don't have some sort of charge equaliser set up you will kill both batteries eventually
