anybody know of a engine transplant done too a xj jeep cherokee?

engine has death rattle , just brought jeep for motor n wife says get rear damage repaired n put back on the road so now thinkin of a transplant to the other jeep

There must be kits available from the states, supposedly, Jeeps are quite popular over there :roll:
Got a Daihatsu Something, hasn't got a Daihatsu engine.... or diffs.... and it doesn't have windows.... or doors.... but its got tyres.... :)

Yep if your going to the trouble and expence of a re-power you might as well make sure theres a few (lot) more cylinders in there :wink:

Try http://www.novak-adapt.com/knowledge/xj_swap.htm for a good description. I have read of the ls1 out of the HSV COmmodores being put into an XJ in the US. A LS1 is about 100lbs lighter than the 4.0l straight 6. Alloy vs Steel
