been lookin at this site a bit and found some threads so useful i had to join
ive got an 85 toyota hilux twin cab with rover 3500 v8 onto toyota gearbox
dedicated lpg two barrell holley and hei electronic ignition
so not too good for swimming with
raised a little 50mm? and 31 " wheels
currently going thru lvv and recert for road
not too offroad just something to get the mountainbikes into sillier places
mind you i think im gettin the bug already
also have a dead 88 surf ifs that may get fully offroaded sometime
or stripped or turned into a trailer
and a coupla threads on here pointed out that the torsion bar on front diff is essential for stayin in a straight line while braking
some previous owner removed it
and removed the mount off the front diff head
and made another on the passenger side and moved the chassis mount too
the manual shows it as being in this position anyway
but says nothing about what it does
a quick check of the local 4wd wreckers carpark showed 1 out of three did not have one at all(may have had crossover steering it looked serious?
and the local warrant guys passed it without one?
so a new adjustable one from those 4wd bits guys over there<<<
should be just the ticket
anyway thanks for the straight up info
and keen to hear any other v8 conversions that have had this problem
cheers
