Turning a turbo

Post by dazza85 »

Hi ya all,

the postion of the outlet on the air side of the turbo on my 89 bighorn needs to move 1/6 of a turn to fit the intercooler.
there are 3 bolts on clamp type washers and 3 bolts through the waste gate control mount.
Some of them are blocked by oil and water tubes.
Is there an easy way to do this or do I have to strip it all off to turn it around ??

But I was hoping :? :?

Thanks for the comment about the dowels, I did not know they were there.

Oh well ... I guess I know what I am doing tomorrow night

You should be able to turn any of them, but you will have to redrill holes for the internal dowels.

It has been a while since I had one apart but they are pretty much all the same internally that is why you can change impellers and housings between brands.
