I better post now coz I may not be in a fit state to post at the end of the weekend.
have to work this morning, gonna give the VX a clean up this afternoon, watch the ABs kick some froggy ass in the morning and then its time for Bathurst, which is gonna be at my flatmates work with all the piss and food on the house.
so as you can see I will probably be quite a bit worse for wear come 9pm sunday evening when I watch one of the blue oval brigade cross the line in first place.

10000 lb tow hook might be a little small

right... so anyway....
*Plumbed up a trailer plug on the TJ for my new little camper trailer.
*"Modified" the plastic rear number plate surround (so my spare would stop squeaking) with a stanley knife.
*Decided that my new little camper trailer didnt quite sit high enough behind the TJ, so manufactured a 1 inch suspension lift.

Finally got my power steering pump and alternator remounted in the Surf.
Cheers to Hosehustler for posting up a good 'how to' on the alt and power steer pump.
I just need to go pick up some new belts to drive everything, and find/make a new bottom radiator hose to get around the new power steering lines.
Nearly running now, finally.

SUNDAY
*Bought a Jerry Can holder and Jerry Can and mounted them to the side of my abovementioned camper trailer. (Called McRepco and asked if they had one, was asked "ummmm what does a Jerry Can holder do?" Got a bit grumpy when i told him it held a Jerry Can. )
*Changed engine oil, which, judging by the original filter and the black diesel-engine-oil-like oil, had never been changed in it's 142,000km life.
*Ditto above for the rear diff oil, sometimes white is
not right.
Nearly all sorted for Labour weekend now...... next weekend the muddies come off and the AT's go on.......
AND THEN THE POUTO LIGHTHOUSE WILL BE MINE!!!!! MINE I SAY!!!!!!!

road trip

worked saturday
killed bunys and passums saturday night
was supposed to work sunday but after a late sat night i decided that it would be more beneficial for me to stay home and chill out for the day

took the lad for a drive in the cruiser etc

couple of small skids down by the river ....... i found that if i back right up to the river edge so the rear wheels are in the mushy stuff, slip it into 2wd and fat it in 3rd gear..... lumps of mud rain down about 30 yards out into the river

...well it was fun at the time and the boy thought it was funny

Removed, cleaned and refitted the starter. Took it for a wee strop down the Ashley (river very high) managed to get stuck in soft shingle/sand, nothing to winch off so called for help, then realized the river was still rising. Got snatched out and went home.
Plans were to get the pinion seals done and change diff oil, didn't get round to it but notice the seal in there must be totally shot, after being in the water it was pouring out he diff via the pinion seal! Parked it up in the paddock so next job is diff before it goes any where. Hope to be all set for Ashley trip if river is suitable by then.
