FJ40 Suspension lift?

Hello all. I've got an FJ40 with fairly tired springs (no surprises there I guess), but I'd like to get enough room to put a set of 33in tyres on, so need about a 2 inch lift. The soft springs seem to give surprisingly good articulation, so I'm reluctant to get them re-tensioned if there's an easier (& hopefully cheaper) solution. Is there a shackle extension or suchlike which would do the job without creating WOF issues?

Thanx

in my experience with the ol'e cruiser( i have an FJ as well) when the springs go soft and saggy, they get better traction off road and yes better articulation, and dont bash you around as much, if you only want enough to fit in 33's in there, just get some long shackles and your done. you could go buy some springs as the new steels are a lot better and more forgiving but for the money,,, go the shackles...... or if you want to get crazy 8)

 SOA  ... is all i have to say check my truck in user pics. old saggy original springs with enough room for 35's.. it only has 31's on in the pic tho.
I wouldnt advise it if you use it as transport tho as steering and cert issues are a bish...

Thanks for that. Where do I get long shackles? Or can any engineering outfit make them up? I don't want to get into certification hassles with my next WOF...

i have no idea where your local 4x4 shop is down there bro. easy to make if your that way inclined, cut some 6mm flat bar up to length drill the holes(the right size),weld a brace in the middle to support the extra length and your jacked up,or try asking at your local 4x4 shop, im sure they would sell you some. very common mod.
