fitting awinch on a 2000 vitara

my mate deceided he wanted a demountable winch on the front of his vitara 2000 model airbags, he got a runva 5000lb winch second hand new 3 hp motor , going to cut into the steel bumber fit heavy wall 60mm hrs weld that in ,plate the back of the bumber with 5mm plate ,replace the bumber mounts with angle iron and six 12mm bolts
89 safari, pto winch, 33x15 simexs. sliders,75mm lift . turbo intercoolered

Sounds good, Please post Pics once completed, may be looking to do something similar to mine when my Runva winch arrives. As noone makes off the shelf winch bars for Grand Vitaras and any manufactured ones need to be crash tested I think. but just adapting the front bumper should be all good?

well spent 4 hours on it today the winch mounting spade was for a differant winch so need widening a new fairlean mount plate and solinoid mount, cut the bumper and trial fitted the receiver photos as soon as they load

Saw a 3 dr GV running down Roscommon rd this arvo/evening without the front bumper , wondered what they were up to :)

Are you going to beef up the bumper mounts to the chassis , if so how ?

still a lot of fab to go to finish that truck ,suzuki in parmy told him how to move the front diff control so we've got alot more room to work now

will add to this, pic's to come
cut out the old bumper brkt mounts cut down 50x50x6 angle to fit 150 long welded to the bumper , changed the 8mm bolts to 12mm added two more bolts to hold the bumber in place , welded a5mm plate to the back off the bumper fits between the bumper brkts weld to them to brkts, cut the recevier hole throught the bumper running up hill, welded the heavy wall 6omm box in place, full weld front and rear, added a 6mm plate cut to the curve of the bumper 100mm wide runs between bumper brkts and reciever mount sits on top of the receiver fully welded to everything,

back view with renforce plates and 3 12 bolts for the bumper supports

looks good... Where did you end up putting the Front diff actuator?

he moved it up into the engine bay drivers side had to buy some more vacum hose
