Hi im building a trails truck and was think about using disco diffs for the reason they r wider than 40 series that ive got and they r cheap. Is this a good idea or do hey give probs? Will be lexus v8 powered and 35 tyres.
Thanks for any info

IMHO, I would go for either patrol or land cruiser, as landy diffs ar on the weak side

Trials truck wont weigh so much so you could probably get away with it and also if you ring the half shafts you can use them as your weak point. If you peg the crown wheel your diff should last the distance.
Here is a bit of discussion on difflock.com

My 2c is that they will not be strong enough if you really want to be going hard. The CV's are weaker than yota ones etc.
If you really wanted to use them then peg the crown wheel and pinion, convert the centre section to toyota ones (use original CW&P). Use custom 30 spline shafts in the back and longfield axles/cv's in teh front.
