Hi all,
I have an 04 hilux d/cab and have just put 32/11.5R15s on it. I have had the torsion bar wound up but still have quite a guard rub problem. I specifically asked for the right rims (ifs) and I think I have them. I am looking to now do a shock change and get rear leaf spring resest with the torsion wound further. Looking for 50-60mm lift overall.
The spring possibilities are endless and I really dont know what to buy. Have had Ironman and Monroes before and wasnt a huge fan. I want something thats big bore, long travel... I have also been told a cab/ chassis lift would be a good option to get the guards further away from the wheels... Advice please...

A cab (body) lift would give you what you want, but these need to be certed.

As springs go if you like the current ride you could get a 50mm longer shakle, and wind the torsion bar further, if you go too long in the shakle you need a cert, resetting springs eventualy will cause their life to shorten but they are fairly young springs so should be fine.

You do want some down travel on the front suspension for saftey reasons so winding it all out is not good, the Body lift requires a cert but is a cheap option and can be returned to standard if you want.

If you want to go extreme then a solid front axle swap, and some trimming of guards would be required. It really depends on use and what you want out of it at the end of the day, but is not cheap and also needs certification.

You can also add some ifs suspension arm blocks in the front to give you lift without fawking up your spring rate by winding the crap outta the torsion bars. Talk to Rick Crosbie at 4wd Accessories in ChCh. I think he sells them for about $175 per pair. His number is 0800493222 Tell him I sent ya
