I'm just curious if anyone has had any problems with lineside auto in Rangoira ?

I bought a master cylinder for my LJ71 cruiser thru Landcruiser section , I specified what i wanted & the vehicle it was going in, he gave me the wrong one after driving all the way back to CHCH & pulling mine off ( easily done ) , so then when i took it back for a refund , they said they send me a cheque in a week or so & would'nt just give my money back there & then , so got it today after going back saying "i was'nt waiting a week for my own $$ when it was'nt my mistake " & had to got to the bank to today deposit the cheque - i reck'n this is f##cking stupid service .

the fair trading act covers all that, they suck, and should do some reading

Personally, I've had none other than very positive experience dealing with Lineside. Always found them to be knowledgeable, helpful, and committed to quality customer service ... the pencil needs sharpening on prices sometimes, but then it is my choice as a consumer to shop around for the best deal.

Giving you a check really really sucks....so it would of taken a week for the check to arrive then another week for it to clear...thats just bullshit.

They should of given you CASH if you paid by cash or if you paid by credit card credited it back to your account on the spot.

yep -= it was going to take a week or more just to get it , then another 5 days to clear , until i went back the next day & said "give me my $ now " & he said , come back tommorrow around 10am & you'll get it , so went there the next day as soon as i could which was around 12.30 ( lunch break ) as work'n in the area & he said a "cheque has been sent i think" . so much for quality customer service ,

i think i will bypass Lineside from now on & get stuff elsewhere !

That sounds unacceptable.

But personally I have found them very helpful. They even gave me recommendations on how to do something myself which meant I didn't buy their product. Also have been given a few wee odds I needed at no charge.

spose any place will give you advise from their experience , way to attract more cust$mers ! I have nothing against them , good for parts ,etc but expensive . But that circumstance was a really weird one , never come across that in my life .

Just curious if any people have had hassles with them ?

Their prices can be a little high but they are the only one that will warranty second hand stuff they sell, but usualy if you ask for something you do get exactly that.

I have not had to return anything so have not had any issues, but time and the warranty ment I was prepared to pay more and drive out these times.

I understand you pay cash you get cash back, you pay cheque it gets returned and you pay Visa it gets reversed. I have no idea why the wouldnt do anything unless their banking had gone.

Bizzare experience there. I too have had nothing but good service from the cruiser section at lineside. their prices are upthere but at least they have it in stock. And you don't have to go there too many times to get a discount occasionally

I spoke with the top bloke from the just cruisers side of things when I bought my HZJ75. Great guy, a real people person, took the time to have a yarn, (about ten minutes on the phone) and was generally very helpful, saving me quite a bit of coin. He even gave a little business advice.
I couldn't imagine getting a raw deal from him.

Sounds like the guy who told you to come back at 10am doesn't have the authority to handle the refunds, was probably having a shit day and didn't have the customer's experience as first priority.

First of all, Lineside don't sell cruiser parts, the business next door called "Just Cruisers' do. If you're going to try and crap on a company, make sure its the right one.

Either way, both of those businesses are (in my experience) very good to deal with. Sometimes, as Kev pointed out, they can be a little pricey, but on the other hand everything is warranted and generally in top-notch condition - and if its wrong, they will replace it with the right one if they can. Did you actually think to ask if they had the right part rather than ask for a refund? Surely you still needed a master cylinder? You have a Bundera right? They have a few odd differences to standard LandCruisers and Prados, perhaps the master cylinder is one of them...

If you had paid cash and asked for a refund, I'm sure you would have had no problem as I have done this myself once - did you pay EFT-POS? That might be why they couldn't give you a refund on the spot.

Personally I wouldn't hesitate to deal with either of these businesses, on a personal or a business level. Sorry you had a bad experience.

shit - why do people take things personally when you ask & enquire about something , i was just curious what people think of lineside in general , if they had any problems with them , etc .

As far as i know they are the same company - Lineside & just cruiser's , you pay at the front desk of lineside when you buy a part from " Just cruiser's" - do you not ? and just cruiser's is on linesides property as far as i can see.

In general what i can see here , Lineside seem quite respected by most people intom 4x4's & most places reccomend them , as i have found out in the last week !

Just Crusiers & Lineside Auto are owned by the same people & are effectively the same company. The original owner sold to new people a couple of years ago.The old owner Hugo still works at Just Cruisers & is very knowledgeable & a great man to chat to for info.

As for warrenty all 2nd hand dealers must offer some form of warrenty both under the 2nd hand dealers act & also the fair trading act...so the warrenty they give isnt anything special.

I have had occasion to deal with both these companies & find them great.
They can be expensive for some thing. But like purchasing anything you have to doyou reasearch before buying.

Just Cruisers actually import some genuine new Toyota Parts at greatly reduced prices compared to Toyota NZ Dealers. (guards , window surrounds etc.) so they arent always the most expensive.

I thought i would put something up about my recent dealings with Just Cruisers. I bought some aisin copy free wheeling hubs last year from there. They looked just like the real ones and Nigel said no one had broken one yet. He did ask me what size tyres I was running and i said 33's but will be getting 35's in a months time. I bought them and went on my way. Over the weekend on the Godly trip this happened.

So i took both of them back as they both were broken and he gave me a set of second hand genuine ones with little hesitation. I would not recommend them if you have big tyres. I was not thrashing mine at the time when it happened either. But all in all it is good that there are people who will back their product and replace ones that break.

yeah the main housing looks like it was made of sand and resin. As you can see it basically exploded.
